Flocafé coffee chain has a leading position in the Greek market, ranking first in the coffee house category. The company has 93 stores in 5 countries and is one of the most widely recognized brands in Greece.
In this case the company has decided to create a new coffee chain with smaller stores, focusing on quality coffee on-the-go. Low cost, urban character and quality roasts become essential components of the new chain brief. We were asked to design the pilot store and create the brand manual of Flocafé Street coffee stores.
Our research for the design solution of the store experience revealed that this chain was about good coffee in a direct relationship with the street. The key feature of the concept is the location of the counter and the coffee machine that are placed in the façade of the store, directly visible from the street and the sideway. The new coffee chain has a young, urban atmosphere, addressed to busy, working people that are looking for a straightforward and value for money destination. The walls are covered with bricks, wood and black metal surfaces, while concrete blocks are used as wall partitions and coating material for the counter.
The pilot store opened in the end of 2015 and has been applauded by customers and Flocafé alike. The business has since embarked on an ambitious store-opening program.
